Introducing JULIE COOPER (nutritional therapist)

I haven’t always been interested in nutrition.

Indeed, I spent most of my singing career jumping on and off planes around the world, eating the wrong foods too late at night, and keeping going by guzzling caffeine and sugar. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in my thirties, and this in turn impacted my voice. I was greatly helped by wonderful medical professionals, however many of my symptoms remained. I felt alone, anxious, helpless and out of control. I didn’t know who to turn to. Taking control of my nutrition and lifestyle was my weapon against these symptoms, and I felt empowered by being in control of my food choices.

The desire to help others steered me towards studying for a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy at The Institute of Optimum Nutrition. Four years of hard work later, I am a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist DipION; a member of The British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (mBANT) and regulated by The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC reg). Since graduation, I’m fully committed to undertake regular training in order to update my knowledge, further my skills and keep up to date with the latest scientific research. I use my clinical knowledge to restore your optimal health.

Introducing LOUISE WORSFOLD (yoga instructor)

Akram Kahn a dancer and choreographer said in an interview that  “Life is movement and movement is Life”. If I could borrow a mantra that would be it.  I discovered yoga with my Mum from a book by Richard Hittleman in the mid 70’s and I have practiced yoga in various forms since then.  I danced from an early age, and discovered aerobics at Pineapple Studios in the the 80’s. I trained to teach movement from then on in the form of group classes,  personal training, yoga, sports massage and injury management and the pilates reformer, and there is still so much for me to learn.   I love bodies and have learnt that our bodies are our biographies.   Yoga is one of the most beautiful movement forms as it helps us to unlock the parts of our biography that we don’t really need to hold onto. By pursuing breath work and very simple relaxation techniques, as well as intelligent movement we can learn to undo that  which we  don’t need and manage ongoing what life throws at us.
